Nic's wish list

Tonight's my birthday and here is a list of what I want to happen in 2019:

1) Turn closed catholic churches into public restaurants and bars.
 
 Let the government buy back those churches and repackage them to bars 
 with dance floors and urban music. Pay the barmaids with money collected from taxes (like 15 000$/year) or don't pay them at all (benevolent work).

 Example of such a church: the one that's on Saint-Jean street.
 
2) Put an end to illegal drug sale and usage.
 We tend in Quebec to let go such crimes which we believe have no impact on local peace, 
 but many more serious crimes like murders, rapes and thievery have their origin in prolongated drug use 
 and even some in very short term drug use.

3) Build more and bigger prisons to host every criminal that's not yet in there to pay for his/her past crimes.
 Ideally we would all admit our crimes and confirm it through a lie detection test.
 Some would spend 1 month, others 1 year in prison, but that would contribute to improve the quality of our detention services and the understanding of our crimes.
 The problem with some prisoners, to my knowledge, is that we didn't find a way to explain the crimes they have done and they have come out of jail still frustrated and unwililing to contribute to society (in a lawful way).
 We ought to understand that the laws are here to help social cohesion, and not to respect the law in a democracy is like not respecting the majority of us.
