If you're thinking of a retirement commuinity why not Punta Gorda? The other areas of the country o/s of Belize City have border problems; and I assure you a retirtement community in those areas will never have sufficient security if everyone carries a gun. Land nered not be a problem. It may even be possible to obtain a siginificant long term lease on Cerro land from the Garrifuna committee if they got something else they need: assisstance using their lands for agriculture projects, i.e., planting and harvesting sustainable crops, fruit trees of all sort for the retirement community; ditto for vegetables etc, cocao, cashew trees, a 100 acre "coconut walk" will in the long term produce a windfall in a crop that everybody wants and uses but nobody is really cultivating. The security situation needs to be addressed, but unlike belize city or the other places, it can be minimized.
Lucia, Belmopan, Belize
There is land available in Unitedville for a retirement community. The land available is scenic hillside property, 14.38 acres with electricity, water and road access. The cost is 75,000$US.
