DIego Velazquez, Francisco de Goya and Frida Kahlo are all inspirations in portrait art. It is here that we have taken a once bourgeoisie luxury to the masses. Some would say portrait painting is a dead past-time for the upper-class. Take that past-time and revive it with pop-culture and we have the best of two worlds, because in today's society, we all consider ourselves to be aristocracy. How we feel about ourselves may not shine consistently on the surface, but that does not matter, as it's our inner appearance that we should pay attention to.
