Formed in 2010 by guitarist, singer and principle songwriter Larry Hanson, Rez Warriors is a Vancouver B.C. based rock band who's original music tells stories from a First Nations perspective.

The foundation for Rez Warriors began in 1987 when drummer Dave Hampton met bass player Erven Hanson. Dave and Erven had been invited to join the Vancouver band Sound Tribe. Saxaphonist/flutist Henry Lo was also an occasional member of Sound Tribe.

Through this meeting, Dave would be introduced to Erven's brother Larry and the trio would work together on a regualr basis for the next 20 years as The Hanson Brothers band playing a combination of classic rock and country music in and around Vancouver.

Dave and Erven would also hire out as a rhythm section, most notably with Vancouver bands Benedict and the Insomniacs and The Gordie Walker Band. Dave and Erven would form a solid rhythm foundation and a lasting friendship.

In early 2010, Larry released an independant CD under the name Rez Warriors. The CD contained original material Larry had been writing for many years. Produced by the multi - talented John Roles (guitarist, bassist, drummer, singer, songwriter, producer and a former member of Canadian bands Chiliwack and Doucette) the CD garnered interest from Vancouver Co Op radio. Larry needed a backing band, and so, Rez Warriors was born.
