Historically when two rivals were in battle, the losers village were destroyed, their women and children were captured and the leaders and any other possible threats were killed. This was insurance that the losers would not be a threat and the survivors wouldn’t know their identity.

This is what has happened and is happening to some men. The enemy has and is attacking the homes, capturing the families and erasing the roles and the identity of the man as the leader and head of their homes.

Jesus tells us in John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Men and boys are being lost at an astounding rate to drugs, violence, homosexuality, and prison because today’s society is lacking a moral compass. The standard of manhood has been lowered, and has resulted in men and families struggling or being defeated against an enemy that we were created to defeat.

Mark 3:27 tells us "No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house."

The issue that effects us today is that some of our strong men are absent in the homes they are suppose to protect. Without the man's presence God’s design of the family structure is altered and distorted. Resulting in children being reared in single parent homes without a father which places unnecessary burdens and strains on mothers that they were not created to carry. The absence of a father leaves boys without a role model and a guide on the confusing, journey of manhood. And without the influence and presents of a father, girls grow up not knowing how a real man looks or acts.

Something has to change. It is time for men to Man Up and take responsibility and be accountable and to take their rightful position in God’s plan as the head of their families, churches and communities.
