If you are a doomsday prepper, you are probably more than ready for the apocalypse. Whether it is Armageddon by water or food shortage, or a tyrannical government take over, foreign or domestic, however, it is going to happen, you know you are ready. This is a good thing, as many people live through life not taking the time to even make the smallest, just in case preparations. I am sure if you are a prepper then you have thought about all of the loose ends and contingencies you may face when the test comes and you have to survive. You may think you are physically and mentally ready, and you may feel you have all of your corners covered, but it is always good to be willing to learn more. They say the wise man would rather listen than teach. A wise prepper should always be willing to listen and accept new advice and different perspective. Ego can get in the way of survival, and this is no good for you or anyone depending on you. A true prepper is always willing and wanting to learn more.

Have you thought about the longevity of your preparations? Do you have enough supplies to last you for a year, what about two? How long will it take for a society to begin to rebuild from a devastation? These are things you need to think about, you can not carry enough medicine and ammo with you for a lifetime. You are going to have to learn how to be a scavenger and scavenger's move in silence. They are also brazen, and fearless because they know that sometimes the best items are the most secure. A scavenger does not care about his life, so long as his group is cared for. If you want to survive in a barren wasteland for two or more years, you are going to have to think crafty. Some places you will come across on your travels are prime picking for scavengers. Alcoholics Anonymous or AA treatment programs are places that many people overlook when it comes to scavaging. These facilities are rehabs which mean they will have plenty of medical supplies that you could use. These places also have food and water access that is enough to usually last a year. If you are lucky, you may find a rehab center that hasn't been hit, and you could really hit the jackpot. Another advantage of a rehab center during the apocalypse is the shelter it provides. A lot of these centers have facilities that are off limits and even hidden from the general public. If done right, a rehab facility could be a great place to set up your community and begin to rebuild.
