I will be analysing two songs, one chiptune and one prelude. The first link I have provided leads to "Horizon" by Sabrepulse, a chiptune artist. The second leads to Bach's Well-tempered Clavier, which includes both the prelude and fugue in Bflat minor, but we are only interested in the former.

Chiptune artists have been influenced by music throughout history and though it is a relatively unprofessional branch of music (in essence anyone with a computer can create chiptunes) many have been influenced by the fast-paced virtuoso pieces of the Baroque that demand fast hands - but in chiptunes, no one is playing the instrument; the computer emulates the music. We will look at similarities that suggest the influence of Baroque preludes (Particularly the B-flat major in Bach's first Well-tempered Clavier) on chiptune music. Our example of chiptune music is "Horizon" by the renowned chiptune artist Sabrepulse.
