 Welcome to the

Ray Reunion

 FIRST RAY REUNION

The Ray Reunion was started in the fall of 1984.

Rod Skiles formed a committee to organize the very first Reunion.

They decided to hold it on the Sunday of Labor day weekend.  This was a huge event for the little town.  The folk were so excited over getting to come back to the home place to see where they had grew up and attended the school which still stands to this day.  They held a potluck dinner with a band to entertain while they were eating.  There were games and drawings for prizes. They play horseshoes and the kids play many different games.  This started before noon and went until the last dog went home in the late afternoon.   Oh the memories they shared and the memories that were made on the day of this first reunion.   This still continue through out the years. It was changed to the third Sunday due to Labor day was such a busy time for everyone. Rod made sure it was a going thing. Although Rod passed away before the 25th Ray Reunion  the folks were still coming.  It rained on the 25th Reunion but the old school was happy to open up and invite those who came in for the day.

On the 25th Reunion there was a museum  opened up in one of the upper old class rooms.  It has many pictures of Ray's past residents and history of the area.  There is a special place for the men who were in the military past and present.  The folks were so awed at seeing the old photos and the memories and stories came flooding back while they were looking at them.  This is still being added to when there is a new photo presented for it.   If you have any photos or memorabilia to add it would be greatly appreciated.  The photos are copied and the original is returned to the provider.

Here are a few candid shots from this years 2010 reunion
