Located in the Grampian region of Scotland, Aberdeen is an historic city with plenty to show-off. Walking, hiking, mountain biking, and climbing are all popular pursuits in this part of the world, while friendly villages and fine archaeological sites and landmarks are there to be discovered. Tourists will also find that it offers access to the marvelous Shetland Islands. A ferry journey between Aberdeen and Lerwick takes between and hours, but because it is overnight, visitors can rest before making the most of their time on the islands. Other preferred Aberdeen attractions include the likes of the Maritime Museum, Marischal College, and the Stratosphere science center, all of which are readily available to those based in the city center.

Otherwise, rental cars and public buses are also on hand to transfer visitors to the city center. Passengers arriving at the airport can use a shuttle bus to connect with a suburban railway station before heading into central Aberdeen. As visitors walk the citys streets, theyll discover new architectural delights at every turn. From beautiful gardens and parks to impressive historical structures, the city has more than enough to leave visitors impressed.

Amongst the best of these are the castles at Fyvie, Dunnottar and Balmoral, the latter of which remains a royal residence, and Pitmedden Garden. Those preferring to fly can do so, with journey time between Aberdeen Airport and Sumburgh Airport on the Shetland Islands being closer to an hour. Upon arrival in Aberdeen, visitors will find accommodation options, including traditional hotels and bed-and-breakfast properties, throughout the city. Those that travel from London will find that the splendid natural landscapes between the two cities make for my site a thoroughly enjoyable journey. One particular delight is the vast amount of granite-build buildings which can be found throughout the Granite City.

Today the house serves as a free-entry museum. Scattered about the city, visitors will find a wide array of floral gardens, each of which offers a visual delight, while the larger ones make for an enjoyable afternoon. Travelers will find Aberdeen accessible by air, with Aberdeen Airport which has regular flights to and from an assortment of destinations across the UK and Europe situated just outside of the city center. The region is also a popular destination for birdwatchers, anglers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Most visitors opt to stay in the city center though, where a host of hotels can be found within a short distance of the railway station. Rail travel is a popular choice for those visiting Aberdeen.
