The concept of a mage, is pretty much to be a heavy DPS. A DPS is someone who deals out a lot of damage per second.In my leveling of a mage i have learned that you have to keep a nice distance, for a couple reasons, one, you are a caster and you have a certain amount to time to wait while you are casting. Two you dont have as much life as a lot of the other classes, just because your are one of those classes that are a heavy hitter in dmg.
On to my next concept, PvP. PvP means player vs player which is you can kill the opposing factions where ever. There are two factions in WoW, Horde and Alliance. Horde consists of Tauren, Orcs, Blood Elves, Trolls, and undeads. Alliance consists of Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Dreani, and Night Elves. All the alliance can attack the horde, and all the horde can attack the alliance. Mages are in my opinion amazing in PvP, they can freeze people, chill people(slow there moving speed), change them into other forms, and have sheilds around them draining mana instead of health. Mana is a type of magical spell power that you need to cast spells. Each spell you use takes up mana. The more mana you have the better, same with health.
Now onto weapons, there are many differnt weapons in the game such as , staves, swords, two handed swords, one handed and two handed axes, wands, maces one handed and wo handed, bows, cross bows, daggers, fist weapons, guns, polearms and thrown.
