 Electrochlorination system

Pristine Water offers the best inline solutions for the disinfection of water through Electrochlorination. Electrochlorinators are also known as Sodium Hypochlorite Generators (SHG). These use water, salt and electricity to produce Sodium Hypochlorite which is a strong disinfectant. The applications of our systems are mainly for Disinfection and Algae Prevention & Bio fouling control.

1000 + of our systems are treating water across 18 countries and 4 continents. The capacity of these systems to produce chlorine ranges from 5 gms/hr of chlorine to 500 kgs/hr of chlorine. Pristine Water is a lean and agile company established in 2003 powered by a leadership whose experience in the field of design and development of Chlorination Systems spans across 30 years. Pristine Water is an ISO 9001-2008 certified company.

Batch Electrochlorinator

Batch type electro chlorination systems are perfect for small to medium requirements of chlorine starting from 5 gms per hr to 500 gms per hour. They are lower in cost than continuous systems. Batch systems, as the name suggests, produces chlorine in batches of 8 hours each. This chlorine is stored in a tank and is dosed using dosing pumps. The whole process is repeated when the stored chlorine is used up. Our smallest and most compact batch process Electrochlorination system is the Compclor or the Compact Electro chlorinator. For chlorine requirement greater than 5gms per hour, we offer the Batch type Electrochlorinators.

Batch Electrochlorinator produces required chlorine in the form of Sodium Hypochlorite in 8 hours. Add salt and water and switch on the power supply. The system automatically stops after producing the required chlorine. Supplied with Reaction Tank fitted with the Titanium Electrolyzer and Power Supply Unit with Auto Timer Controls. Storage Tank and Dosing Pump are optional. To inject Gas Chlorine, Liquid Chlorine or Bleaching powder to disinfect water or wastewater is a common practice all over the world. But hereafter you do not have to face the problem of procuring and the hazard of storing these chemicals. Our Electrochlorinator produces Liquid Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite) from common salt as per your requirement. It is safe and cost-saving.

Solar Chlorinator

Solar Electrochlorinator is a Batch type disinfectant generator that produces Sodium Hypochlorite, a strong disinfectant, by the process of electrolysis from salt and water. With is equipment the need for buying and storing Liquid chlorine or Bleaching powder is totally eliminated. All you need is Salt and Electricity. It’s no more a problem to disinfect water in remote areas where electric power is not available. Two of natures gifts, Sunlight and Salt help to produce a strong disinfectant in a technologically advanced process. “Sunclor” Solar Electrochlorinator produces Liquid Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite) from common salt and Solar power. When sodium hypochlorite is injected into water it kills all the disease causing pathogens and renders the water pure.

Compact Chlorinator

Compact Electrochlorinator is a Batch type disinfectant generator that produces Sodium Hypochlorite, a strong disinfectant, by the process of electrolysis from salt and water. With is equipment the need for buying and storing Liquid chlorine or Bleaching powder is totally eliminated. All you need is Salt and Electricity. The disinfectant generated by ‘Compclor’ can be directly injected into water or wastewater to disinfect up 60000 liters of water per day depending on the contamination. This equipment is a total system by itself, Reaction tank, Hypo Tank, Power supply unit and Dosing pump are all integrated into one single unit. They are prewired and piped, so they can be installed any were without any civil foundation or support stands.

Sea Water Electrochlorinator

Continuous Production Electrochlorinators are designed for high capacity production of sodium hypochlorite solution from seawater. The system is complete with all the required equipment for continuous production of 0.1 to 0.2% Sodium Hypochlorite. This system can be offered as a pre-assembled skid which makes the erection and commissioning process very quick with predictable. The system contains all necessary instrumentation for automatic operation. PLC controls with required triggers and alarms and sensors make it state of the art and safe.

Seawater based Electro chlorination systems are mostly used for Cooling water treatment and seawater in-take channels and other disinfection requirements. The operation of thermal or nuclear power plants located near the seashore requires massive amounts of water for cooling purposes. Inevitably, many sedentary marine organisms, such as barnacles, spirorbis, oysters and bryozoa proliferate on the inner wall of cooling water intake pipelines. The growth of these marine organisms can reduce the rate of thermal exchange, restrict water movement, clog the pipeline, or erode and perforate the wall of the pipeline.

The best and most convenient alternative is Sodium Hypochlorite. Continuous Production Electrochlorinators using sea water are designed for high capacity production of Sodium Hypochlorite directly from sea water.

The purpose of the Seawater Hypo Chlorination System is to generate and Inject Hypochlorite solution into Sea Water Intake Structures to inhibit the growth of the biological organisms and to prevent slime deposits on the wall of circulating cooling water pipes.

The sea water from the sea will be delivered to the Hypochlorination System. If the pressure is not sufficient, it will be boosted by means of Seawater Booster Pumps (which shall be located within the Hypochlorination Building). Seawater Booster Pumps will feed sea water to automatic backwash strainers to ensure that the sea water is rid of large debris. Sea water will then pass through Hypochlorite Generators where the sodium hypochlorite solution will be generated from sea water by the electrolysis process. The generated sodium hypochlorite solution will be stored in the downstream Hypochlorite Solution Storage Tanks.

Hypochlorite solution from storage tanks will then be dosed continuously as well as intermittently (shock dosing) to the intake structure. The continuous Hypochlorite dosing rate shall be controlled manually in order to maintain a level of 0.2 mg/l free residual chlorine at the cooling water discharge at the seal pit. Shock chlorination has been envisaged at 5 mg/l with a frequency of once every 8 hours for a duration of 20-30 minutes.
