"In my Dreams"
In my dreams everything is free
The water is cool and refreshing,
the well overflows.
Children laugh and people dance,
happiness is all the men and women know.
Work is a nightmare,
we play to live another day.
When I awake the clock is ticking,
my money is running out.
My mouth is parched,
but I can'tr afford another bottle of water.
My head aches from the stress,
but I lose the race when I relax;
I fight for survival...
I try to dream in the day,
but the nightmare takes hold.
My reality is what has already been determined,
by those who dream no longer.
We don't even try, for we've lost all hope.
Is fighting the only option left?
To fight with love is the only chance,
but the fearful subdue me when I stand.
After falling once again I try to bring change.
I buy gifts for others,
they tax me.
In my dreams everything is free.
