Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters 2013 Review

I love adventure and fantasy movie so I watched this recent movie “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”. This movie is derived from the Percy Jackson book series. For me, it was really nice that book story turns into a movie.  I love the characters in the book become real. Since, I have watched the first film and it was just alright, so I was looking forward what would be shown on the next film. Well, after watching the film, I have observed some positive points and negative points. But, this film is much better than the first one. Now, I will point out the good and bad points of this movie.

Positive Points

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters has great stars like Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson and many more. The casting was good and I will give that credit to the director Thor Freudenthal. The chosen casts of actors were perfect for the characters they acted in this movie. Each of the cast was showcasing their good acting skill on the character he/she was portraying. The good thing was that, it focused more on the three heroes and it started how Luke, Talia and Annabeth arrived at the camp half blood. Some of the dialogues delivered were good and captivating. This movie really showcased about Percy discovering his way as a demigod. When it comes to special effects, they were great and effective. Logan Lerman as Percy did a great job on his role and maintains you captivated in his demigod hero. Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth in this movie did a great job as well and makes a good team up with Lerman. She has beautiful eyes which nice to look. The majority of the characters in the book were there and the primary storyline was there as well. Most of the actors presented their dialogues very well and they delivered their wits and jokes clearly and effective. In fact, there were lots of laughs bestowed on this movie and there were more action as well. When it comes to some sad scenes, they acted very well which brought you in the scenes. There were many heartfelt moments that would touch your heart.

Negative Points

I have observed that it was short screen time in the Sea of Monsters. I think it was much better if it has given a long time for their scenes. I have also little complained about the character of Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth because she didn’t get enough moments or scenes to thoroughly showcase her ability and strength. It is best if she got more sword fights or displayed her ability as strong heroine. There were also a few corny lines of conversation, but it was little only. A few scenes were not that important and made you wonder “was it necessary?” There was also a lack of howling musical score of Chris Beck. I think it was good if they have added his music creation in this movie. The computer generated imagery was also not of the highest quality.

But, in all sides, it’s a fun, solid and interesting movie. You will be entertained watching these hero characters here in this link.
