Our Mission Statement

 

To provide information regarding the New Relationship Fund to the Northwest Angle communities.

  

Norhtwest Angle 33 has entered into a New Relationship Fund multi-year agreement with Ontario Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs. To Engage consultation with Mining Industry to open reserves lands for mineral exploration.

 

The First Nations are pressing to protect Reserve Land against the mining. Prospectors (Licensed) can enter Crown Land and stake claims.

 

 

The First Nations are pushing to get the Land Use Plan completed to designate the lands for the use of the Northwest Angle #33 band members

 

  

Our Objective

   

To ensure that the NWA 33 communities are included in a consultation capacity with government and the private sectors on land and resource issues.

 

  

To ensure that our communities are assisted on improving the quality of life and closing the socio-economic gap between aboriginal and non-aboriginal people in Ontario.

 

 

What is the The New Relationship Fund:

  

 

The New Relationship Fund is an Ontario government program designed to help Aboriginal communities and organizations participate in meaningful consultation and engagement with government and the private sector. The Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs administers the Fund.

 

  

Under the New Relationship Fund, Core Consultation Capacity funding is available to First Nations and Métis communities to assist them in building fundamental consultation and engagement capacity so that they can better engage with government and the private sector on lands and resource issues.
