My name is Erin, and I am a Senior Girl Scout of Central Maryland. I have sold cookies in front of Giant and Blockbuster, I have provided daycare for the parents of disabled children, and I have gone backpacking on the back roads of Virgina. I have been a Girl Scout for seven years and I am proud of what my troop has accomplished.

I am also proud of my family and my community. Being a Girl Scout isn't just about earning badges, or selling cookies. Being a Girl Scout is about being a helpful, and caring part of the community, and as a Senior Girl Scout, I have that opportunity.

Senior Scouts are the only Scouts able to earn the Senior Girl Scout Gold Award, an award much like the Boy Scout's Eagle Award, dedicated to reaching out into the community and demonstrating the qualities that make a Scout what they are: leadership, compassion, and ingenuity.
