Thoughts for Life
Mood:  bright

No one can go back and make a brand new
start.

Anyone can start from now and make a brand
new ending.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter,
without sorrow, sun, without rain, but He did
promise strength for the day, comfort for the
tears, and light for the way.

Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow
you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road
afterwards. Don't stay on the bumps too long.
Move on!

When you feel down because you didn't get
what you want, just sit tight and be happy,
because God has thought of something better to
give you.

When something happens to you, good or bad,
consider what it means.

There's a purpose to life's events, to teach you
how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.

You can't make someone love you, all you can
do is be someone who can be loved, the rest is
up to the prson to realize your worth.

It's better to lose your pride to the one you love,
than to lose the one you love because of pride.

It's better to lose your pride to the one you love,
than to lose the one you love because of pride.

We spend too much time looking for the right
person to love or finding fault with those we
already love, when instead we should be
perfecting the love we give.

Never abandon an old friend. You will never
find one who can take there place. Friendship is
like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

21 Golden Rules To Spend Life and Make A Difference
Mood:  a-ok

ONE.. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
TWO
.. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE
. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR.. When you say, "I love you," mean it
FIVE.. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
SIX... Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE.. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN... In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN
. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
FOURTEEN
. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
FIFTEEN
. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

The History of Saint Valentine's Day
Mood:  a-ok

Valentine's Day started in the time of the Roman Empire. In ancient Rome, February 14th was a holiday to honour Juno. Juno was the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also knew her as the Goddess of women and marriage. The following day, February 15th, began the Feast of Lupercalia.

The lives of young boys and girls were strictly separate. However, one of the customs of the young people was name drawing. On the eve of the festival of Lupercalia the names of Roman girls were written on slips of paper and placed into jars. Each young man would draw a girl's name from the jar and would then be partners for the duration of the festival with the girl whom he chose. Sometimes the pairing of the children lasted an entire year, and often, they would fall in love and would later marry.

Under the rule of Emperor Claudius II Rome was involved in many bloody and unpopular campaigns. Claudius the Cruel was having a difficult time getting soldiers to join his military leagues. He believed that the reason was that roman men did not want to leave their loves or families. As a result, Claudius cancelled all marriages and engagements in Rome. The good Saint Valentine was a priest at Rome in the days of Claudius II. He and Saint Marius aided the Christian martyrs and secretly married couples, and for this kind deed Saint Valentine was apprehended and dragged before the Prefect of Rome, who condemned him to be beaten to death with clubs and to have his head cut off. He suffered martyrdom on the 14th day of February, about the year 270. At that time it was the custom in Rome, a very ancient custom, indeed, to celebrate in the month of February the Lupercalia, feasts in honour of a heathen god. On these occasions, amidst a variety of pagan ceremonies, the names of young women were placed in a box, from which they were drawn by the men as chance directed.

The pastors of the early Christian Church in Rome endeavoured to do away with the pagan element in these feasts by substituting the names of saints for those of maidens. And as the Lupercalia began about the middle of February, the pastors appear to have chosen Saint Valentine's Day for the celebration of this new feaSt. So it seems that the custom of young men choosing maidens for valentines, or saints as patrons for the coming year, arose in this way.

VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR HER
Mood:  flirty

Choosing a romantic gift for Valentine's Day for a woman should be a pleasure, with thoughts and feelings of how much it will make her feel loved and special.

Plan a full Valentine's Day, to make her Valentine's gift unique. The gift will be a series of gifts and events spread throughout the day. Timing and order are very important and that is something you will have to decide depending on your wife or girlfriend.

The permutations for a true Valentine's Day are endless. Think about the best timing and order for her to get maximum pleasure. For example, if a romantic candle-lit evening meal is an essential, then you need to plan way ahead..

Valentine's Day comes but once a year, so make it just a day. If your budget allows, then try spending some time to figure about what would make her feel very happy, spoiled, pampered and intensely loved.

While it cannot be that much of a surprise as a day, you can keep the individual elements of the day and the physical gifts secret.

Here are some examples.

 1. A very beautiful Valentine Card on the breakfast table awaiting her or special delivery by a courier to her.

 2. Early morning delivery of flowers to her home or yours, if you live together.

 3. A light lunch somewhere that is a bit out of the ordinary or anything else with a romantic touch.

 4. She'll be feeling on top of the world by now, a great time to go to a boutique or two to find that perfect outfit for the evening meal.

 5. Home on schedule, to await the delivery of a gift basket that includes a bottle of her favorite wine, some feminine and floral fragrances.

 6. While she's in the bath, hide a new bottle of a perfume she has always wanted inside the new dress so she will find it as she gets ready for the evening.

 7. A wonderful candle-lit meal with her favorite choice of foods; a romantic ambience to top off the evening.

 8. As you order your dessert, a timely flower delivery of fresh roses delivered to the restaurant and then your table.

 9. Back home and an offer to open the wine.

10.. While she is in the bathroom, replace the bedroom lighting with scented candles and place her last gift, some new lingerie, on the pillow to await her.

How to Impress a Man

Things You’ll Need:

    * Breath Fresheners
    * Perfume

Step 1:
Remember that men like women with confidence. If you like who you are, they'll like who you are.

Step 2:
Practice being independent. It takes a lot of the pressure off of men to know they don't have to take care of you.

Step 3:
Don't play dumb. If that's what it takes to impress a certain man, do you really want him?

Step 4:
Dress well. Wear whatever you have on with your own style. Guys like those black seamed stockings and flashy high heels, sure, but you'll be more fun if you're comfortable.

Step 5:
Don't worry if you don't look like a supermodel. After all, you don't demand that the men in your life all look like movie stars, right? There are more important things. Give guys credit for knowing that.

Step 6:
Be engaging. A woman who is sitting with a bunch of men is intriguing. Those guys are sitting with her for a reason. Other men will want to know what it is.

Step 7:
Notice what a man is wearing and compliment him. Men often go to a lot of trouble to look good, but rarely get as many compliments as women do.

Step 8:
Don't drink too much. Your inhibitions will be lowered and you might say or do things you wouldn't normally do.

Step 9:
Be appreciative. Say thanks when it's appropriate. Smile when you say it. It means a lot.

Step 10:
Ask the man about his work, his hobbies, his interests. Listen carefully and ask questions.

Step 11:
Find out what he's interested in. If you can hold your own in a discussion on baseball, stock cars or fishing, you're in.

Step 12:
Be relaxed and easy to get along with. The more comfortable you are, the more comfortable the people around you are.
You might not be the only one who's nervous.
