Mid-Ohio League

Constitution

I.  Name - The league shall be the Mid-Ohio League.

II.  Purpose - To provide a league for girls for fast-pitch softball. To promote

recreation, sportsmanship, interest and skills towards High School fast-pitch softball play.

By-Laws

Section I : Board of Directors - shall consist of an Executive Board and a Regulatory

Board. The Executive Board shall consist of the President, Vice President, and Secretary / Treasurer. The Regulatory Board shall consist of the Executive Board as well as 3 Commissioners. The Commissioners will be 1 from each age Bracket.

Section II : Elections - as required, shall take place if a current member resigns or majority of  Board Members call for an Election. If a election is held, each team in                the League will have one (1) vote.                   

Section III : Divisions - shall be 1 8 & under / 15 & under / 12 & under.

Section IV : Ages - Date to determine age bracket eligibility shall be their age on 1 January of the current playing season. Players may play up in Divisions but may never play down in a Division if they do not meet the age requirements. All players must present a copy of their Birth Certificate if their eligibility is questioned and a formal complaint has been made to their respective Commissioner.

Section V : Teams - shall be approved by the Executive Board.

Section VI : Rosters - shall be open for the regular season. Season ending tournament,

each team shall submit a roster with a maximum of 1 5 players that will NOT be altered during tournament play. No more than 2 players from other than home district shall be allowed on a roster. Home schooled players eligibility will be determined by the district they reside in.

Section VI : Rosters - exceptions - 1 . 1 8 & under have NO 2 player limits.

2. In the 15 & under and 12 & under divisions, if a team is formed due to lack of players from 1 district the 2 player rule will be waived upon a ruling from the Board.

*3. Players MUST have played in 30% of a teams  -

regular season games to be allowed on a roster. ( A.) Each Commissioner shall check rosters prior to start of tournament Coaches shall make scorebook available to verify eligibility.

Section VII : Fees - shall be determined prior to the season.                             

 

Section VIII : Insurance - Each team will be responsible for their team and players

insurance. The Mid-Ohio League shall not be held responsible for injuries suffered during the season.

Section IX : Uniforms - Each team will provide their own uniforms.


Section X : Umpires - All teams hosting games will be responsible for providing

1 OHSAA umpire per game. Games played at a neutral site both teams will pay for 1/2 the cost of umpires per game.

 

Fee for umpires will be $ 40 per game.

  The League will responsible for scheduling and paying umpires for all tournament games.

Section XI : Rules of Play - High School rules will be used in ALL divisions.

ALL games will be 7 innings unless the entertaining teams facilities have time limits.

Section XII : Reschedules - changes of the schedule due to weather or other conditions

must be agreed to by both coaches. If this cannot be resolved both teams may be given a loss for their records.

Section XIII : Weather - Guidelines if weather halts play :

Innings 1 to 3 - restart game

Innings 4 to 5 - pick up from point of games stoppage. Innings 6 to 7 - shall be a complete game.

Section XIV : Tournament - The league shall sponsor a season ending tournament.

Trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams.

Section XV : Scorekeeping - Home Team will have the official book.

Section XVI : Maps : all teams will provide maps to their fields for teams in their division.


Section XVII : Game Balls - Each team will provide 1 YELLOW ball per game.

                                              12 inch ball for all age groups.

Section XVIII : Equipment - Each team will provide their equipment. It must conform to

High School Rules.     

Face guards are mandatory for all helmets.

Section XX : Forfeits - It a team forfeits 2 or more they may he banned from

league play the following year.

Section XXI : Ejections - If a player or coach is ejected for a conduct violation, they

WILL be suspended for 2 games following the game they were ejected from.

 

Section XXII:  12-U Div.  Pitching rubber -  40ft

                                           Ball  -  same as other as groups   12in

                                           12-U  Division can start May 22.

 

Section XXIII:  15-U Div.  Will be Split into two  Divisions     An A and B Division

                                            Each Team will play 12 game season,  6 games in their

                                            Division and 6 out of their division.

                                            Teams for each Division will be drawn from a hat 

                                             ( 2006 season only).

 

Section XXIV:   Tournaments  Will Start Week  after the 4th of July.

                                                 Their will be no game 3rd and 4th of July

                                                 No regular season games after July 7, 2006
