Mobogenie links your Android device to your Windows PC, typically via the USB cable that attaches to the device's charger. It not only syncs your smartphone or tablet to your Windows PC but also serves as an Android app manager, picture gallery, video player, and more.

Mobogenie

is free but ad-supported.

Pros

Usually works: Mobogenie seemed to work pretty well most of the time; something that can't be said of all Android-to-PC sync agents.

Order from chaos: Mobogenie's ad-supported interface fairly buzzes with app ads, but the My Manager navigation drawer is clean and efficient and makes it easy to access the app's features and extras.

Useful extras: Mobogenie includes Pictures, Music, Videos, and Documents managers and more.

Cons

Ads: Mobogenie's home page is dominated by banner ads for apps, apps listed by category, and so on.

Settings maze: You must enable USB debugging in your phone or tablet's Settings to use Mobogenie. That got a lot harder with Android 4.3, which hides Developer Options.

Bottom Line

mobogenie market

If you need a tool to sync your Android device to your Windows PC, or if the sync app that came with your phone or tablet doesn't meet your needs, Mobogenie is certainly worth a try. For newer Android devices (4.3 and up) though, Mobogenie might not be worth the trouble it takes to set up.
