Here you will find information on our fund raising, and ideas of how YOU can earn money for the team.
NOTE: We have been challenged by the Hawks Elementary School team to see which team can raise more money. This is their second year... so we have to work HARD!
Most of you missed the ENTERTAINMENT PASSBOOK fund raiser, but there are still things you can do.
Currently we have several things going on:
1) FLAMINGO FLOCKING!
Yes, we are flocking houses for $10 a house (in the Mesquite Area) So sign up your friends and family to play a 24 hour prank on someone!
2) STAR AND MOON CARDS!
These go for a $1 donation a piece and are to honor or remember someone who has fought the cancer battle.
3) LUMINARIA
These will be at the Relay, lining the track, and will be illuminated all night. They sell for $5 a piece. We hope to have some in stock soon so people can decorate their own. They need to specify if they want them "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of".
4) DRESS FOR RELAY
Try to find businesses or schools with dress codes who will be willing to forgo uniforms for a day for each person who donates a dollar to Relay. They get this sticker to wear on their shirt to prove they donated to the cause.
5) E-MAIL
Each member of the team will have his or her own Relay for Life page where they can tell why they are involved with Relay For Life, e-mail friends, e-mail friends and family, and track donations.
6) EMPTY MEDICINE BOTTLE
Ask a female friend or loved one to save the next medicine bottle they empty, and fill it with loose change until it is full, then donate it to Relay For Life in remembrance of everyone fighting Cancer who take medicines every day.
7) EMPTY YOUR POCKETS
Ask a male family member or friend to empty his pockets of change RIGHT NOW and donate what you have to Relay For Life. This only works with guys, cause women don't carry much loose change with them!
Don't forget things like car washes, going door to door in your neighborhood, pumping gas at a gas station for tips, Washing windows at a gas station for tips and things like that. Be CREATIVE not OFFENSIVE! We don't want to push ourselves on anyone. If they don't want to donate or get involved, it's OK.
