Barrister Megan Smith was born in Keffi, Kara, which is the northern region of Togo, on April 10, 1953. He moved to Lome the capital city of Togo at the age of just one year. He attended the University of Togo (B.A. Economics 19878) and received his law degree (J.D. 1982) here in republic of Togo. He was admitted to the Bar of Togo in 1984, and also admitted to practice before the high court of Togo.
Wamiis also a Life Fellow of the Togo Bar Foundation, and a member of many other legal organizations. These organizations include the Bar of Togo, The Association of Trial Lawyers of Togo, the Lome District and Fiata Attorneys Association, the Kara Trial Lawyers Association, and the Ecowas Bar Associations.
