OBJECTIVE

An internship that will allow me to gain real world experience in business management, labor and relations.

EXPERIENCE

2007 to Present - Cleveland State University
Management Labor and Relations Business Major, I have over 64 creidt hours in business management and computer information systems including several software applications, website design and accounting.

July 2002-July 2007 - Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration
My title was transportation Security Officer. I was originally assigned to Beckley, WV. My duties included opening the checkpoint by running diagnostic tests, screening passengers and screening passenger luggage. I traveled throughout West Virginia covering multiple counties.I later applied for and was selected to the National Screening Force, a group of officers that traveled throughout the nation. I had duty assignments in Nantucket, Mass; West Palm Beach, FL;Hot Springs, AR; Washgington DC, VA; Key West, FL; Pellston MI. After traveling for over 2 years I later transferred to Maui Hawaii.

January 2002-July 2002- Wyoming County Flood Recovery Committee, Volunteer Coordinator
I was employed by the committee as a Volunteer Coordinator. My responsibilities were to sort throught the client files and to assess the needs of the clients for home repair and or financial need. I contactedvolunteer organizations and set up dates,times and number of volunteers needed for a project. I would also go on home visits and assess damages, coordinate with local lumber yards for delivery of materials to the work site. Developed housing for the volunteers, hired cooks for the volunteer housing, oversaw approximately 100 volunteers a week for about 10 projects a week throughout the county. Attended committee meetings verbalizing the needs of the volunteers as weel as the needs of the clients.

August 2001-January 2002 - Project Recovery, Catholic Community Services

I was trained on crisis counseling by FEMA and the Office of Behavioral Services. I receieved a certificate after attending a 40 hour class room training. My duties were to travel house to house in the county I was assigned. I and a team partner would enter clients homes that were affected by the flood and listen to their stories. We also gave referrals for financial assisstance as well as were to locate materials for rebuilding. I attended many meetings of the Wyoming County Flood Recovery Committee as well as debriefing sessions for myself and other counselors.

I also helped start a children's program for preschool-ninth grade. The program included lessons on diaster preparedness for children, families and animals.
