Twilight
This has been a very eventful year for Twilight starting with the release of the DVD in March, and being followed by winning more awards then any other movie to come out last year at the MTV Movie Awards, The Kids Choice Awards, The Scream Awards and then hopefully coming up in January of 2010, the People's Choice Awards.
Though along with the popularity come the rumors. Some of the most circulated rumors this year have involved Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson being an item, along with whether or not she was dating Taylor Lautner, or if he has been dating Nikki Reed or Taylor Swift. Only time will tell for sure if these rumors are true.
New Moon
This has been an even more eventful year for New Moon then it has been for Twilight. With the release of New Moon on November 20, no one expected that it would do as well in ticket sales its first weekend as it did. With an estimated $140.7 million dollars in revenue its first 3 days, it made more then 2 times what Twilight did its opening weekend! With Thanksgiving weekend this week, can New Moon hold onto its crown or will it get dethroned by one of the new movies opening this weekend? We will have to wait til Monday to find out!
Previously released in anticipation of New Moon coming out has been the New Moon Soundtrack, The New Moon Movie Companion, which comes with an amazing pull out poster, and plenty of movie merchandise to keep you occupied for a long time. And now you can even dress like Bella did in the movie for her birthday! You can pick up the dress at Hot Topic locations nationwide for $69.99 + tax. Edwards jacket is also available for the men as well for $59.99 + tax.
Eclipse
With the third book in the Twilight Saga Series being brought to the big screen on June 30, 2010, there isn't much time to let the buzz about this series die down for the next movie. Eclipse brings in some new cast members and a lot of old familiar faces.
Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be reprising their roles as Bella and Edward, while to much displeasure among fans, Bryce Dallas Howard will be replacing Rachelle LaFevre as vengeful vampiress Victoria. Merchandise that has yet to be released, though will surely be coveted collection pieces, may include a replication of Bella's engagement ring. Stay tuned for more info on Eclipse Fan Memorabilia.
Breaking Dawn
Truly there has not been much development in the Breaking Dawn department this year. Except for the biggest news yet. Breaking Dawn will in fact be going to the big screen. And it is rumored to be being made in two parts. Newcomer BooBoo Stewart let slipp that he was "Excited to be working on the next three Twilight Projects" making fans wonder if it was Midnight Sun and not two parts of Breaking Dawn that he would be working in.
