John Chipman was born in England in 1858, He immigrated to Spaniard's Bay Newfoundland and married Sarah Sharpe of Spaniards Bay Newfoundland
Martin Chipman was born in Spaniard's Bay Newfoundland He was a fisherman by trade and owned several parcels of land near Spaniards Bay. He met and married Levina Snow of Bay Roberts Newfoundland in1900 they had 18 children. Just after World War I they moved to Sydney Nova Scotia and Martin went to work at the Steel Mill. In 1953 Martin passed away, Levina remained in Sydney and passed away in 1988. The 18 Children have spread out across the country, and raised families of their own. All of Martin and Levina's Children have now passed on but they have left a legacy, their decendants
