Welcome to the Cat Scratch Reader Mock Offseason Web Portal. This exercise has traditionally been carried out using the Cat Scratch Reader (CSR) Fan Post system. While the majority of discussion will still occur on that website, the need for a site dedicated to the various resources became apparent.  It is the aim of this site to provide an easily accessible and organized hub for all the resources our armchair General Managers need for this exercise. On this website you will find the important dates and important links to CSR discussion threads (on the sidebar of every page), as well as pages detailing the rules of the Mock Offseason, a list of GMs (for trade purposes), a list of available free agents, a form for bidding on free agents, and the draft portal (for all things Mock Draft).

WHAT IS A MOCK OFFSEASON?

A Mock Offseason is an exercise in fantasy, meant to scratch that itch that "armchair" General Managers get during the NFL Offseason. In it, 32 users assume the role of General Manager of an NFL franchise, and are able to shape a team over the course of a simulated offseason. These GMs are able to make trades, use franchise tags and restricted free agent tenders, and prepare for the Mock NFL Draft, setting their teams up for the future. The Mock Offseason ends with a final cut-day in which the GMs must pare their rosters down to 53 players, just like in the real NFL. This exercise is primarily intended to get users familiar with the upcoming draft prospects, and most importantly, for the GMs to have a bit of fun in what is typically a period of football withdrawal.
