Insteadof a finished product, I want this website to act as a notebook for the creation of this novel. I have reverted the manuscript to its Alpha version, meaning that the outline section indicators have been left in so that I can refer to them from the sidebar. My objective is to diagram the novel so that I can determine, with your help, what works and what does not. And so that I can communicate with you, my Beta readers, what my intentions for each chapter and section are / were.

The sidebar will contain my notes as the author.

It may contain what could be seen as spoilers.

If you wish to assist me in the creation of this novel, I recommend that you read the sidebar after you have read the main text, and then provide feedback in the form of comments.

My intention is to provide you with insight as to what I want you, as the reader, to have concluded at particular points in the story.

The story, as a whole, is based on a Premise. That is the starting point of the story. It is expressed as a statement.

The main Engine of the story is what propels the reader through the pages and chapters in order to reach the end. It is expressed in the form of a question.

Like an engine, one question after another should form, be answered, and raise new questions, just as a cylinder fills with fuel, is ignited, and exhausted, only to fill again so that the motion never stops.

I will pose a question in each section that I feel the reader should be asking. And then state the conclusion I hope to have provided. This is where feedback will do me the most good.

A ‘Why?” question will probably linger throughout the story and carry over from section to section and chapter to chapter. Part of the ‘why’ will be answered as the story progresses, while part of it will remain, and new facets of it will be revealed.

Feel free to note the questions that arose in your mind, when. And which ones remain unanswered, at what point. Using the outline points should save us both on having to re-type questions. They can be used as checkpoints, i.e. Objective completed.
