Last night was the Democratic National Convention. Senator Barack Obama gave his speech accepting the Democratic nomination for president and he selected Biden as his running mate. Mistake? Most likely, yes. And now that John McCain has chosen Palin as his running mate, this fight will become even tougher. Hillary supporters are looking at this new female Vice President nominee as a good option after Clinton's peaceful step down from the campaign. Obama will have to do something quick before he loses it all. At the DNC, Obama made some serious mistakes that might end up hurting his campaign if he's not careful. For one, he continually addressed the crowd as 'we democrats' and not 'we Americans'. As if Americans as a whole are not good enough. This could be offensive. He also proposed many changes which will be almost impossible to do. Obama actually said that he was going to stop climate change. Is that even possible? I think not. Being as inexperienced as he is, I wonder if he realizes that some of the things he promises will never be changed because he has no power over some of them. Such as, hiring new teachers and paying them higher salaries. The school boards control that individually, he cannot change that. And just because you have a democratic congress doesn't mean that everything he does will get passed. Most people in Congress vote for personal beliefs and not with party affiliation. Wonderful, isn't it? Obama means well, but he is simply too inexperienced to be able to run an entire country. This will never work. We just have to pray that McCain can do whatever it takes to win this election and become the next president of the United States of America. --Lizzy--
