Western Digital: Known to be a company that manufactures hard drives. This company has been in business for quite some time now. From standard hard drives, the company has expanded there potential by offering technology to companies worldwide, that require digital space, like camcorders, media devices, TV’s, and even media players.
I personally like the My Passport Essential because it helps store information on a external drive, normally used on laptop computers. Not having to use the space on my laptop keeps it running better, and I can also carry my information where ever I go and connect it to any computer I might have available.
Memorex: This company has been around for over 40 years already, they have a great variety of products like hard drives, USB Drives, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray players and products like accessories for IPods, this is just to name a few.
One of my personal favorites are the DVD Burners for the PC, I believe they are fast and reliable, don’t give any problems and last a lifetime, well, until they are obsolete that is.
SanDisk: Is a company that has been around for about 21 years, even though it has not been around for long time compared to others, it has come along way since then. Making all types of portable storage devices such as memory cards, USB flash drives among other devices and now offering MP3 player Sansa Clip +.
I have not been too updated with the USB Flash Drives because I already have had one, but I just realized how out of date I have been. I have a 2GB drive that has been enough so far, but I noticed one that I really liked from there website. A SanDisk Ultra Back Up USB Drive with 64GB of memory! That is crazy! I remember that a couple years back there were only 32MB and 64MB drives and they were about $1 per MB, if you do the math, if it were still true, this 64GB would cost $64,000, but in only costs $277. Everyday the technology gets more advanced and less expensive.
