Why You Should Choose An LED Light bar As Your Next Spotlight or Floodlight for your 4 WD

If you have been driving your 4 wheel drive around for a while out in rough territory, or in the middle of the night, you quickly begin to realize that the light from your stock headlights does not go far enough, this means that you cannot see everything in front of you. On normal road ordinary headlights will do just fine, however, off-road you need a different kind of light to tackle the terrain. This is where an LED light bar comes in handy.

Higher mounted light bars are an excellent choice, as they reduce the shadows that are created on bumpy ground. Lower angle lights tend to leave a lot of things unilluminated. Installing a light bar increases visibility and reduces the chances that you will run into something you did not see.

Older light bars had halogen or Xenon lamps in them. They got the job done, however, they had certain disadvantages. The biggest one was that they required a lot of power to keep them running. Halogen lamps tend to have a yellow tone, which makes visibility difficult. Xenon lamps on the other hand have better light but are very expensive.

LED lights are now much more common, and they are very affordable. Compared to Xenon and Halogen lamps they have a lot of advantages and no cons that are known. Listed below are the advantages.

       1.They Are Efficient

An LED work light will do a much better work with electricity than other lights. This translates into less of a drain on your battery, which is essential when you are using your lights with the engine turned off.

       2.Their Illumination

LED lamps come in a variety of color temperatures. This will affect what kind of light they give out. LEDs are capable of producing white light that is almost similar to daylight, this means they give a very clear view of what is ahead of the car. They are also much brighter than other lights.

       3.They are Durable

An LED lamp is what is termed as a “solid state electronic component”. This means that they are very resistant to shocks that may destroy ordinary bulbs. This is very important when you are crossing rough terrain. Also, LEDs are usually solidly mounted within their casings, so that they continuously project clear and steady beams devoid of vibrations.

        4.Very Long Lifespan

Unlike other lights, LEDs have a very long lifespan. If you take care of your lights well with good maintenance they can work for up to 50, 000 hours. The other advantage is that they contain several individual lighting elements, thus even if one or a few fail the others can still function effectively.

While halogen and xenon lamps still have their proponents, if you want lights that offer great value and still perform excellently then LED is the only choice for your next light bar purchase.
