Linda Lovelace attained fame after starring in Deep Throat, a notorious pornographic flick of the 1970s. On the other hand, Gloria Steinem was a feminist from the same era and the founder of the Ms. Magazine. She was one of the most well-known critics of pornography and her feature on Lovelace, titled “The Real Linda Lovelace” in her magazine, brought to public notice the violent, threatening, and abusive nature of the relationship between Lovelace and her husband Charles Traynor, also the producer of Deep Throat.
