1) To enable us to experience first hand the architecture
upon which so much of our education has been based. To see, feel and smell
what has until now been confined to two-dimensional images and intellectual
discourse.
2) To overcome this paradigm shifting experience and push
the limits of our comfort zones. And hopefully along this journey of self-discovery,
gain a better understanding of our limitations and strengths.
3) To nature our inner qualities of forbearance and self-control.
Useful against the urges to kill each other from time to time.
4) To have lots and lots of FUN, to try everything (legal
of course) at least once, to make friends with fellow backpackers, to
relax and to get some perspective on life.
