Hi there, my name is Ryan Perreault. During the Christmas season of 2003, I came up with the idea to draw pictures of Sonic the Hedgehog characters, fan and official, singing Christmas songs with the lyrics to the song printed on it and the number of days left until Christmas.
During that year, I had an art gallery account on NetRaptor. Every day, starting December 1st, I have posted a picture on the gallery containing 12 fan characters of mine and of my friends (at the time), and I had 13 official characters as well.
A year later, I got an account on deviantART. During that time, I lost friendships from three people (April, Jamie, and Joanie), so I decided to replace their pictures with four fresh new ones, 3 fan and 1 official and none of the songs are used twice.
In 2005, I decided to do the same thing again, this time I used Dragonball characters, 25 official characters and 25 brand new songs. That's right, I have never used the same Christmas song twice, even the ones that have been the replaced.
Last year, 2006, I decided to bring back my Sonic Christmas Countdown. I made a poll of it on my dA account asking what countdown I should do, but was a four-way-tie. I decided to go with the one I wanted, Sonic countdown with all fan-characters replaced with official characters. 11 new characters with 11 new songs.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: The fan characters that are replaced this year are STILL my friends! I just wanted to get that out. Marcus, Matt, Toni, and Cari are still my friends, I'm just putting an official character in their place. AS for me, I had my characters, Bat, Knife, and Cari in this countdown, too, and they will also be replaced by official characters as well.
This year, 2007, I'm deciding to do something different. I'm bringing back the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, but I'm doing the exact opposite of what I did last year. Last year, I had all official characters. This year, I'm going to have all fan characters of friends of mine. Some of them are going to be returns from past countdowns and many of them will be new. Also, I reunited my friendship with Jamie so her characters are going to make a triumphant return to my countdown!
Every day, I will post the new picture on this web page, as well as the ones that were replaced, as each day goes by. So, come here every day to see the new picture.
