sorry about the way things look,
everything is messy and in disarray,
You see kids, things are not right,
they're just not looking o.k.,
we've all had a dreadful fright,
Dr. Seuss has been taken away!
Late last eve, we all heard a "THUMP"!
When we arrived at his home,
We found Seuss's guard-elephant Horton,
Lying on the ground with a great, big lump!
That's right! It was the Grinch!
And now, as we head for the border,
