The Ngorongoro Crater is covered by open grasslands dotted with acacia trees. The nutrient rich alkaline Makat Lake attracts numerous species of birds. The swamps on the crater floor are inhabited by hippos and elephants. The local Maasai villages are popular venues for cultural safaris in Tanzania.

The Kilimanjaro National Park dominated by one of the world’s highest walkable summits draws mountaineers and trekkers to this stunning nature reserve. The attraction of the park is not limited to scaling the mountain. The foothills and the lower slopes of the mountain are covered by lush greenery. Abundant wildlife is found in the rainforests.

The southern parks of Tanzania are inhabited by a number of endangered wildlife species including the African wild dogs, roan antelope and sable antelope. With few luxury lodges and tented camps available in the parks in the southern safari circuit, they are perfect for eco tourism.

Selous, one of the largest game reserves of Africa, is the most popular wildlife reserve in the southern safari circuit. More than half of Tanzania’s elephant population lives in Selous. Selous is also home to wildebeest, buffalo, African wild dogs, black rhino and numerous bird species.
