Later on, he owned his own TV channel which aired his show for 24 hours in multiple media outlets. Jimmy Swaggart published twenty books along with his musical career. Jimmy Swaggart was accused of several sex scandals because of which he had to give up a lot of his roles in his ministry and other communities. In 1986, Swaggart exposed a fellow minister of the Assemblies of God, Marvin Gorman regarding having several affairs and was defrocked from the Assemblies of God immediately. Later on, Gorman had caught Jimmy Swaggart in a motel with a prostitute named Debra Murphree. On 16th February 1988, Gorman informed one of the 13 men Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God, Raymond Carslon about Jimmy Swaggart’s sex scandal. Later, he was suspended from the Assemblies of God after three months. On 21st February, 1988 Jimmy Swaggart confessed to the public and his infamous speech “I have Sinned” became so famous that is was repeatedly broadcasted on the tabloid and news throughout the nation. The suspension of Jimmy Swaggart was extended from three months to two year and he became an independent non denominational Pentecostal minister.


His second scandal started when Jimmy Swaggart was caught by the policy on 11th October, 1991 for driving on the wrong lane but was caught with yet another local prostitute. This led to him being removed from his own ministry, Jimmy Swaggart Ministry.
