Getting Zune to Work with Windows 7
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Motorcycle Drive-By - Third Eye Blind

First off one of the first issues (which there are surprisingly few) I noticed with Windows 7 is its compatability issues when it comes to the Zune and Zune Software. Which I found surprising since the Zune is a Microsoft product... but then again they did release Vista and call it complete. But I digress, This can be a rather annoying problem if you have a zune so after tinkering with windows options for a while I found a way to get past it other than the Run as Admin quick fix that a lot of people have used, but doesn't always work.

1. First off your going to go to "Start Menu" and in the search box type Device Manager, and hit enter.

2. Then at the top of that screen click View > Show Hidden Devices. At this point a list of a bunch of devices should show up, if not it's ok just follow along.

3. Next your going to scroll down to where it says "Portable Devices"  Open that tab by double clicking it. There should be one item inside this tab, or at least something that says zune, or Microsoft Portable Device.

4. Right click the item labeled Zune or Microsoft Portable Device and click Update Device Driver. At this point wait a few seconds and wait to see if you hear the "device being plugged in" sound from your computer. If you do your all done.

5. Start Zune software and enjoy!
