Welcome

I see my life as an intricate piece of tapestry with different memories and interests woven into it. The brightly colored canvas reflects feelings and changes constantly. It is the barometer of my many moods.
On a good day, my tapestry is very colorful and exciting. There is thread woven with sunshine and orange and pink flowers. I see the silhouettes of friends and family and some of my favorite things. Books and electronics such as my ipod, cell phone, and computer decorate my tapestry. Music notes dot the fabric. These are the things that take me to another world.
Unfortunately everyday can’t show me the same tapestry. A night when I have a lot of homework, for example, may change the background to dark colors like a stormy sky. Grey clouds and streaks of lightening replace the sun and there are threads of frustration and stress woven throughout. Skies become dark blue and windy.
My tapestry sparkles on snow days. It is pure white with different sized flakes of snow falling from the top all the way to the bottom. Joyous faces of children riding in their sleds and having snowball fights take over the spots where pictures from the previous tapestry were. Snowmen and snow angels are created in the hills of snow at the bottom.
Sick days turn the canvas an odd green. I watch as hands weave in beds, blankets, and ibuprofen. The colors mix together to form multiple swirls. It turns black as I fall into my dreams.
Days when I travel make the tapestry very lively and interesting. The Eiffel Tower and biggest Buddha in the world quickly appear as well as Mickey Mouse and scrumptious pastries. The next images I see are of clear waters and pink sand beaches. The work of art goes from its boring beige to turquoise, pink, orange, and blues and greens.
There are certain days when the tapestry becomes almost every color. Holidays. Gifts appear with Santa Clause and candles, followed by jack-o-lanterns, cakes, fireworks, and feasts. The dye gives the wall hanging a tie-dye look with black, orange, red, green, blue, gold, and many other colors of the rainbow.
My days for relaxing change the current tapestry to a light yellow. Some of the pictures embroidered are sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and friends.  In addition, movies, games, a shopping bag, and an exercise machine are also added. Surrounding the shopping bag are four more images: money, the mall, shoes, and clothes.
I envision my tapestry based on my current mood and activities. There are so many different things that make up a person’s life that you could never fit it all on just one canvas. For this reason, mine is almost always changing.
