Serve
The first hit made from behind the white boundaries to put the ball into play.
There are three styles of serving.
The simplest being the underarm. This is done by the server holding the ball out in front of then and swinging their other arm from behind the to the ball in their hand. This method is often used by beginners as it requires little skill but also allows the server to make the ball travel high in the air.
The second style of serving is the over arm. This serve consists of the server throwing the ball up in front of them and bringing the opposite arm over their head to hit the ball. This serve takes more skill then the underarm. Over arm serves are used by players because it makes the ball travel faster the one from an underarm serve. One of the major issues with this serve is the ball travels almost horizontal the height it was hit from so if left to fall to long after throwing it will result in the ball hitting the net.
The final and most favored of the serves is the jump serve. It is similar to the over arm but the server throws the ball higher then jumps while bringing the opposite arm over their head to hit the ball. This serve requires mush skill and practice to master but is a powerful hit to know. Like the over arm the jump serve allows the server to make the ball travel at great speeds but because the ball is being hit at a higher height the server can hit the ball harder and not worry about it hitting the net. The only real issues left with this serve are timing of the throw, jump and hit but these come with practice.
