I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in the agricultural parish of St. James located in the small city of Vacherie.  After watching the agricultural industry change, people lose jobs, and farmers lose businesses, I decided early in life that I wanted to become a business woman who kept current with changes in the economy and in the business world. I was the first of five siblings to graduate from an institution of higher learning.  In 1993, I received a Bachelors degree from Nicholls State University.

While in college, I joined the United States Army Reserves.  In 1995, I received an honorable discharge from the United States military.  After working at a major hotel chain for about three years, I decided to go back to school in hopes of entering into the teaching profession.  In 1995, I successfully passed the Praxis exam.  Shortly afterwards, I accepted a position as a business education teacher with the Jefferson Parish School Board in Harvey, Louisiana.  During my tenure as an educator, I attained the A+ certification and became a Microsoft Certified Professional. These initial achievements propelled my career as an Information Technology (IT).

In 1999, I accepted a job offer with a company in Alpharetta, Georgia where I received mentoring for the role of Software Quality Engineer.  The year following the 9/11 attacks, I had a life-changing experience that led to my first role as a Quality Assurance consultant. Henceforth, my technical skills and my managerial skills in IT elevated and now span across many different platforms with increasing responsibilities in terms of managing people, projects, and technology.

I have nearly twelve years of experience utilizing acquired skills in quality assurance management, planning, and testing.  I have outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with proven ability to conceptualize solutions to challenging situations and drive issues to resolution.  I am a highly qualified IT professional with the ability to communicate technical concerns and issues in a way that is relevant to business goals.

My personal opinion is that once you understand logic and the discipline of the quality control aspects of QA, you have a great tenacity to work on any platform or system.  For example, once an engineer understands how to use one debugger, she can learn to use any debugger to step through code.  Or, once an engineer understands how to set parameters for automation using one automation tool, he can learn to automate on any platform. Having had the opportunity to work on many different platforms and using many different tools, I have also developed a technical skill set that allows me to understand the different technologies that may be necessary to successfully manage, design, build, test, implement, and maintain information systems. Although my primary focus is on QA management, I do not excuse myself from participating in testing or operational control activities.
