Team Names for Pro Wrestling League Announced


ProSportify, the organisers and promoters of the first edition of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL), on Saturday unveiled the names of its six city-based franchises.


The tournament, that will begin on December 10, will see world-class grapplers fighting for Delhi Veer (owned by GMR Group), Bangalore Yodhha (JSW Group), CDR Punjab Royals (CDR Group and actor Dharmendra), UP Warriors (Lotus Greens), Haryana Hammers (Olive Global) and Mumbaiche Garude (Maverick Industries, Mafatlal, Garudacharya).


"The time is right for the wrestlers in the country and we are excited to launch our six teams for the inaugural edition of PWL. We welcome aboard our team owners and hope for a successful Season 1 of PWL," ProSportify Promoter Kartikeya Sharma said.

Yogeshwar Dutt on Tuesday emerged as the costliest Indian grappler in the inaugural Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auctions. He was picked up by Haryana for Rs. 39.70 lakhs even as two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar was bought for Rs. 38.20 lakh by Uttar Pradesh.


Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha is expected to join the bandwagon of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) as a part of the Uttar Pradesh franchise.
