Born on December 30, 1992, Lena (born Helena Astoria Kyle) spent the first year and a half in Sacred Hearts Home for Children in New York City, after being dropped on their doorstep on January 2, 1993. In early June 1994, Lena was legally adopted by Bruce Thomas Wayne and began living in Wayne Manor in Gotham City. She grows up aware of the fact that she had been adopted (thanks to Bruce constantly being in the spotlight), but doesn't care. She calls Bruce 'Daddy' and has since the day he adopted her. When Lena is five years old, Bruce brings home Richard Grayson and the two are instant best friends. Lena doesn't think of Dick as her brother, most likely due to the fact that although Bruce is a father figure to Dick, Dick always made it very clear that his father had passed away and he could not be replaced. Dick gives Lena the nickname 'Lee'. He is the only person she allows to call her that. When Lena is eleven, she meets Dinah Lance for the first time. The two girls meet on Dinah's first day at Gotham Academy and become friends quickly, thanks to the fact that they both express a large distaste for the snobby rich kids. Dinah is the person who pushes Lena to keep modeling. Lena started modeling when she was only eight years old and as she grows older, she's unsure if she should stay with it. Dinah reminds Lena of how much fun she has at every show and how good it makes her feel about herself. Lena is very beautiful, with thick dark hair and striking green eyes. She has angular cheekbones, pale skin and is naturally slim. She attracts the attention of a lot of boys at school but she rarely pays attention to them. At fourteen, Lena had a near death experience after falling through the ice on a pond in the back yard. Dick was the one who jumped in after her and gave her mouth to mouth until she coughed up the water. She spent a few days in the hospital afterwards. Lena gets along with everyone, mostly. She's very kind and caring, as long as you haven't done anything to cross her. Barbara Gordon, a girl who also goes to Gotham Academy, though, is as close to an enemy as Lena has. Barbara has always been particularly nasty to Lena (Dinah says this is due to Barbara's jealousy) and Lena doesn't approve of Barbara's feigned interest in Dick. When Lena is fifteen, she's in New York on a business trip with her father. There, she meets Johnny Storm (The Human Torch). He is two years her senior and automatically charms his way into her heart. Lena and Johnny date seriously for a year and a half, before breaking up due to conflicting schedules making it nearly impossible to spend time together. They see each other off and on from time to time. Lena doesn't often think about her birth parents. However, when she was sixteen, she decides to do some investigating with the help of Dick. She discovers her birth mother is Selina Kyle after breaking into Bruce's files. She also uncovers the fact that Bruce searched for her for a year before she was adopted. When Lena confronts Bruce with this information, he confesses that he is, in fact, her birth father. Lena's entire world is shattered. She reacts with anger until Dick points out that Bruce searched the country for her when he learned of her existence and that she is lucky to have a father who loves her so much. Lena apologizes to Bruce soon after and the two are closer than ever. Selina Kyle appeared in the Wayne's kitchen one day after Lena had uncovered the truth. Again, Lena is angry, but more because Selina seems to suddenly want to take part in Lena's life, after being absent for seventeen years. She calls her Helena and tells her that she is her mother, to which Lena responds by telling her to get the fuck out of her kitchen and out of her life because she didn't need a mother up until that point and she didn't want one now. Lena's first kiss was with none other than Dick Grayson. The two of them have an undeniable chemistry that everyone sees. Dinah often makes comments about the two of them being soul mates. Mutual feelings are hinted at a few times. When Lena brings Johnny home for the first time, Dick automatically decides he hates him with no real reason. Lena doesn't like any of the girls who flock to Dick and when he announces he's going on a date with none other than Barbara Gordon, Lena and Dick get into a full on screaming match. During senior year, the relationship between Lena and Dick slowly moves towards something more. A few weeks after Valentine's Day, after attending a party, Lena and Dick are drunk and have sex. Things between the two of them is awkward after that. Arguments are much more frequent to the point where even Bruce and Alfred realize what is going on and Bruce asks Dinah what's happening. In early April, Dick gets into a serious motorcycle accident and Lena has an emotional breakdown to Dinah, realizing that she's in love with him. She sits by his bedside until he wakes up. Lena looks after Dick like his personal nurse until he's back to his old self. She realizes that things are different between them but she doesn't say or do anything about it until Dick asks her to go to prom with him. After that, she and Dick are an official couple, going to prom with their best friends, Dinah Lance and Oliver Queen. The four spend most of the summer together and go to Hudson University together in the fall. Two years into their relationship, Dick proposes to Lena and she says yes. When they get married, Dinah is Lena's maid of honor and Oliver is Dick's best man.
