Yesterday I was just browsing through a forum and came across a post, where a visitor (Jack) was sharing his personal experience about his first visit to Bury St Edmunds (a historic market of Suffolk). He narrated how his whole business trip got messed up where he spent the first three days just finding the right accommodation and changed his hotels at least twice. Even the last one wasn’t satisfactory but he had to manage somehow. That immediately struck me of memories when I was placed in a similar kind of condition in the past.

What I learnt from that incident is the fact, you simply can’t move out to completely unknown destinations without preparations. If I or Jack have done some research in advance; our experiences would have been entirely different. There are so many hotels in Bury St Edmunds and it isn’t necessary that all are good for everyone. Every individual has his personal preferences like type of stay, services preferred and budgetary limitations.

So, one has to choose an accommodation that is right for his needs. Since then I have been preferring online directories to find hotels at a place where I have to visit. These directories allow the visitors to choose an accommodation of their desire. For Suffolk hotels there is Suffolk hotel guide that lists all the hotels in Woodbridge, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and other places. The person just has to open the site and click on the place where he is visiting, say Ipswich. That will bring down all the hotels in Ipswich listed with the site with thorough details about the services offered by them and the facilities available at their hotel. One can even do the comparison between two hotels and choose the appropriate one.
