Libyan leader [Muammar Gaddafi] threw a Pan-African party on Tuesday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his coming to power, with soldiers from across the continent joining a huge military parade. [Gaddafi], who toppled King Idriss on September 1, 1969, staged Tuesday's celebration on the eve of a special Organisation of African Unity (OAU) summit to discuss his vision of a United States of Africa.
