On December 20th 2009 two town police officers came to my door in response to an argument I was having with my live in girlfriend. They split us up talked to each of us and we both assured, we thought, that it was OK and they could leave and it would be alright. The one cop seemed fine with this, the other became agitated and said he was going to arrest me anyway. He cuffed me and started pushing me down the hall, all I did was ask why was he doing this, next thing I know I awake in the ER. 18 staples, 6 stitches to my head, a fractured neck, whiplash, injured left arm, bruises and a huge hospital bill. My girlfriend witnessed the scene. She is still not sure they didn't hit me, cops said I fell and hit my head. She came to help me, cops yanked me up off the floor and put me against the wall. She being trained in EMT, said they should not move me that way due to possible neck or back injury. She demanded an ambulance. The ambulance comes, officers yank me up and make me walk to the vehicle. Very well done, since I had a broken neck. I was never read my rights, never really arrested. I spent over 6 hours in the ER, part of the time handcuffed. The police finally left, but not before telling me they would be back for me. The ER released me, it was snowing bad and it was after midnight, no cabs, no ride. I walked the several blocks home in the snow and ice with a neck collar on, no coat and the IV still in my arm. I got home, my girlfriend was in a panic. She told me that she called 911 on the police for what they did. She also told me that the police told her to "go to her room" and take her little dog before they call animal control. The next morning we filed complaints with the police department. They had taken my ID it turns out and the next day when we tried to find it the ER didn't have it, called the police station they said they didn't have it. A week later the police call my girlfriend saying they are putting out a warrant for my arrest for domestic battery and obstructing an officer and wanted me to come to the station. She said she did not want them to touch me, because she is afraid of what they did to me. We went to the courthouse and they released me to show for trial at a later date. Now the police are trying to clean up, they came to my place and shot pictures of the hallway, tried to find some evidence to make it as it was just an accident. Inthe future here if they don't make this right, I will name the officers, the station and include the pictures of the police brutality crime scene.
