THE BUSINESS Harmony Teahouse originated in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and is an ethnic based tea business. Located in the plaza situated on the intersection of Airport Rd. and Highway 7, our tea business is able to conveniently serve you. It is suggested that an individual should consume any form of herbal tea in place of coffee or any energy drinks. It is proven that, tea strengthens teeth because of the chemical ion fluoride, consists of half the amount of caffeine than an average sized cup, has less to none calories, and contains polyphenols. Polyphenols are known for reducing the risk of cancer and diseases in the human body. We recognized these great health benefits of drinking tea and are proud and fortunate enough, to provide an enormous selection of tea beverages in a mature and serene setting, in order to give you that extra and healthy motivation throughout the day. Harmony Teahouse was an idea and that idea was taken to another level in order to aid and inform our community of the benefits of tea.

We would also like to mention that our menu is a collection of traditional Asian teas and pastries. We recognize that there are some customers who still enjoy drinking tea, but are not as open to trying some of our flavours as others. In this case, we offer teas which are very well known in the Western culture and juices. We are also aware of the customers who would like to bring some of our flavours home and having said that, we allow the purchases of tea products in our store. Here at Harmony Teahouse, our purpose is to aid you in celebrating diversity through your senses, whether alone in the comfort of your own home, or with us in our teahouse.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY As a teahouse, we promote unity between individuals and the environment. The atmosphere in our teahouse allows for everyone to read and relax whether you are studying, on a lunch break, or are just catching up with friends. This ties in with our slogan which is, "Your Tea Oasis to Asia". Not only do we provide our customers with exotic tea flavours and Asian sweets, we also provide them with a place to escape to. At our teahouse, we are encouraging the individual to develop their personal harmony between themselves and the people around them. Not only are we aiding our customers in building confidence and self-esteem, we are informing our customers about world events. Recently, the environment has been an enormous issue. Studies and documentries ranging from global warming to recycled products have increased and it is our duty as human beings, to aid in perserving and nurturing the planet of which we live in. Our business is taking a step forward in the fight to perserve our planet by using more environmentally friendlier disposable cups and sleeves, soya ink to print our logo and slogan on the cups, and providing a refilling service to avoid unnecessary garbage. Our first step is to purchase disposable cups that contain 10% postconsumer recycled content and disposable sleeves which contain 60% postconsumer recycled content and eliminate double-cupping. Our second step is to print our logo with soya ink because of its great benefits to the environment. Compared to petroleum ink, it uses less energy to produce, is easier to remove from paper, making it easier to recycle, and when removed, is not considered dangerous. Also, soya ink is more vibrant and has a greater rub resistance. And finally, our last, but not least, step is to provide a refilling service. Customers are able to bring in their thermos and order our tea beverages. We refill their thermos with our beverages and in return, they are given a discount as a reward for aiding in our environmental fight. Our business takes great pride in not only providing customers with positive health choices, but encouraging and allowing them to participate in a global issue.
