Things to Do With Children in Chula Vista

Basking in the sunny climate of Chula Vista is one of the best things to do with children when in the city. After all, Chula Vista is home to many toddler-friendly outdoor destinations that the whole family will surely love.

The Living Coast Discovery Center is one of the most recommended areas to take toddlers to when in Chula Vista. In fact children under three years old get admitted to this location for free.

In their website they explained further the guest tours that they make available to their visitors. One of the most popular tours within the center is their wildlife guided tour which is conducted three times a week.

“Enjoy learning about the wildlife that calls the Living Coast Discovery Center home. Led by one of our docent volunteers, guests will get to hear stories about our animal ambassadors and learn about their wild counter parts. Depending on the group, the docent may focus on the raptors, shorebirds, sharks & rays, turtles, plants, and natural history of the surrounding area and wildlife refuge.”

Burn off energy

The website Red Tricycle meanwhile recommends allowing toddlers to run around a community park like Montevalle. In their article on toddler friendly activities around Chula Vista, they mentioned that this park is also dog-friendly.

“If you have active kids and dogs, you definitely need to visit this park. The green open play fields feature expansive playgrounds and two dog parks, each for different sized dogs (so Fido the poodle won’t have to play alongside Spot the Dalmatian). Along with playing on the swings and slides, be sure to bring a baseball mitt to play a round of catch or a Frisbee to chase in the open fields. There is also a skate park for the adventurous ones. This park has something for everyone, not to mention a friendly neighborhood feel that will make you feel welcome.”
