"Mayday! Mayday!"
"This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it."
Today is the first day of May 2021.
My late husband, Lt. Colonel Bobbie Lee Grace, used to tease with this expression: "Mayday! Mayday! Outdoor intercourse begins today." I assume it was something his Air Force buddies used to say when they were cadets at the US Air Force Academy!
According to the "Readers Digest Oxford Complete Wordfinder", "Mayday" is an international radio-telephone distress signal used especially by ships and aircraft. (And, yes, he and I would usually have sex on that day every year, just not outside!)
This day on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, it is 75* and sunny, with sapphire blue skies. A perfect day for golf, or tennis, or walking on the Beach. So far today, 2 lizards and a wasp have decided to come indoors to visit! Such is living in the sunny south!
