Course Description:
Japanese family traditions and customs,as depicted in
the historical fiction novel "The Doctor's Wife" and
supplementary literary works, will be studied, analyzed
and compared to the memorialized customs and traditions
in other cultures.

Students will engagge

in interactive online activities, discussions,
presentations, individual and group projects.
Cross cultural DVD excerpts, virtual excursions, and
hands on cultural based workshops and exhibits in
collaboration with the Japan Society will be integrated
in this course.
