Most people fail to realize that writing content will improve their traffic virtually overnight. Article Marketing is one of the best ways to do just that. There's not much that goes into Article Marketing either. In fact, all you really need to do is write relevant articles based on keywords that you've researched and then submit your article to an article directory like Galoor.com.

So let's go over all of this stuff with a bit more detail.

1. You'll need to do some research and planning for your articles. Yes, articles, as in more than one. You should be submitting at least 3 articles, but probably more. I tend to submit 4-5 to Galoor and EzineArticles and then a few to ArticleBase. This helps spread your content around and build more solid links for your off-site SEO campaign.

So what do you want to write about? You should focus on what your site is about and go from there. For instance, if you run a site about Automobiles, then your articles should be relevant to that website. Write about what you have on your site...what you already talk about.

2. Now you should be prepared to start your keyword research. You should use a tool like the External Keyword Tool (or internal if you have an adwords account, which helps out a lot in cases like this). Throw in some keyword ideas and use the exact match function (uncheck the others). Make sure you focus on LOCAL searches and not much more than that. You should have a lot of ideas coming in now. Keep looking over those ideas and you should be building a list for this batch of articles and the next few, too.

3. Now that you have your keywords it's time to focus on some ideas based around those keywords. Come up with How To articles, as they're very helpful to the reader and usually get more searches than most. Just use simple, yet effective headlines that will grab the attention of the reader. Come up with a few headline ideas for every article you intend to write.

Of course, this is where you could also outsource content to writers on oDesk or iWriter.com. You'll pay around $10 for a solid 700 word article on iWriter and you'll be able to reject the articles that you don't like.

4. Now you should be able to submit those articles to directories like Galoor.com! Make sure you post a link in your article that goes to the page(s) that you want, but be sure to read the guidelines so that you don't overdo it. Most will allow a link in the content (towards the bottom) and a link or 2 in your author box.

Once you get your articles accepted, make sure you tweet, like, pin, etc. all of your articles to make sure they get indexed by google and found by readers who would be interested.

I hope this article helps you out!
