POLISH PROPHECIES ABOUT POPE JOHN PAUL II

Poles have in their history many startling prophecies about the future coming of a Polish Pope.

Prophecy of Juliusz Słowacki

In the year 1848 the famous polish poet: Juliusz Słowacki (1809-1849) – wrote verses [1] (eventually giving him the status of poet-prophet [2][3]) in comment on the escape from Rome of pope Pius IX – wherein he made a strong statement about the future coming
of a Slavic Pope,[4] who would be much stronger then an Italian-one!
Pope John Paul II very much liked that poem and gave orders to translate it into Italian, so that it could be read on the 20th anniversary celebration of His election. On this occasion the inhabitants of Rome
gathered in celebration in St Peters Square to hear those verses read in Italian. [5]
In this poem are many prophetic visions cited about a Pope (which in time were fulfilled), [6][7][8][9][10] but just a few cases will be sufficient to mention.

In the West there is a song called "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands", which was written in 1927 (ostensibly a spiritual song addressed to God), but beforehand Juliusz Słowacki in 1848 wrote something similar to this (about a future Pope) thus; “sacramental power he will show when he will take the world in his hand”.
Of course the English speaking world did not have any knowledge of this prophetic poem, but in a sense sounded its fulfilment as when Pope John Paul II started His famous long distance pilgrimages, in which He celebrated Masses for large groups of people, first in Galway in Ireland 30 September 1979 and next in Wembley England on the 29th of May 1982 where the people sang that song for Him! [11][12]

Yet the whole of this verse sounds like this: “He distributes love, how today power-peoples distribute arms” and next: “sacramental power he will show when he will take world in his hand”. [13]

This was fulfilled in such a manner with Pope John Paul II becoming a world motivator and propagator of the cult of Divine Mercy as received and revealed by Sister Mary Faustina Kowalska (St Faustina Kowalska). By this cult Pope John Paul II tried to heal the world after the world war conflicts of 20th century. [14][15][16]

The Pope showed “sacramental power” and saved the peace when he three times entrusted the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary against a new threat of atomic war. This was in Fatima on the 13th of May 1982, and two times in the Vatican, on the 16th of October 1983 and the 25th of March 1984. [17][18][19][20]

Some other verses say: “Dove of the Word by word fly from him, and distribute sweet news, that Spirit already is glowing, and have His own Glory”. [21]

These words inevitably seem to be indicated by an event, which had its place in the first pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II to Poland. Then on the 2nd of June 1979, on Victory Square in Warsaw the Pope pronounced those famous words: “And I cry—I who am a Son of the land of Poland and who am also Pope John Paul II—I cry from all the depths of this Millennium, I cry on the vigil of Pentecost, I cry with all of you: Let Your Spirit descend! Let Your Spirit descend and renew the face of the earth, the face of this land!”[22][23][24]

And after this everything started: the Spirit flowed and Solidarity (Polish trade union) was formed and changes (obtained also by survivals of Polish religious culture and tradition [25]) started in whole of Eastern Europe. [26]

Prophecy of canon Rescius

In the 16th century there lived man named Stanisław Reszka (1544-1600). [27] He was Polish canon priest, secretary to the Polish King Stefan Batory, and also secretary to the famous cardinal Stanislaus Hosius (Polish: Stanisław Hozjusz). He wrote many works in Latin and after his death was honoured by Pope Clement VIII, who a built monument to his memory in Naples.
Venerable Stanisław Reszka (also called Stanislaus Rescius) wrote a prophecy about future Polish Leaders. [28]
This is in some way very similar in form to the famous prophecy of St. Malachy (prophecy of the Popes, i.e. list of titles) and indeed here is an interesting coincidence.
When Pope John Paul II was elected, according to St Malachy’s
prophecy, he gained the title: De labore solis [29][30] (i.e. from labor of the sun – and indeed Karol Wojtyła was born on the 18th of May 1920 in the time of a partial eclipse).
It becomes more interesting when we turn to the prophecy of Stanisława Reszki, because in the comments of polish scholars [31] on that prophecy from 1930s onwards, always one title from there: Patriae Sol [32][33] (i.e. Sun of Homeland) was attributed to the expected future
Polish Pope.
So the Sun was in fact an important connection having symbolic meaning for the person of Pope John Paul II, who ‘spiritually radiates’ on the whole world. (By those very ‘radiances’ fell some dark communistic systems, based on errors, that were spread military by Russians. Against those evil shadows of communism John Paul II spiritually resurrected Poland and the greater part of Middle and Eastern Europe [34] – So rightly Pope John Paul II could be named SUN of the HOMELAND).

Prophecy of blessed Bronisław Markiewicz

Next there is blessed Bronisław Markiewicz (1842–1912), friend of St John Bosco and founder of Congregation of Saint Michael the Archangel (CSMA; in polish: Michaelici).
Father Markiewicz had extraordinary prophetic gifts, which led him to give many prognostics
on different topics during his lifetime (especially famous are his prophecies about coming cycles of world wars – which in fact he saw as one continuous conflict in time).
His gift started in 1863, when as a young man he had a miraculous vision of the Guardian Angel of
Poland in the form of a 16-year old boy. Part of this encounter he later described in his moral play: “Bój bezkrwawy” (“Bloodless battle”), which was first published in 1908 and next in 1913. In it, after a short reenactment of the prophecies about the future of the country, that were given the by Angel, father Markiewicz also cites his words: “In the highest place God will bring you (i.e. Poles), when you will give to the world a Great Pope”. [35]
This short and unusual prophecy was so startling that even some later scholars tried to ignore it, but yet
it turned out so true, [36][37] when came the pontificate of Pope John Paul II, which in time he was named by peoples of the world as the Great Pope and compared with Persons like Pope Leo I, Pope Gregory I and Pope Nicholas I.
Yet his Pontificate came in time when Poland was in the darkness of Russian communism, but this Pope brought the country to the ‘higher place’ of Freedom.
