Ryan’s Eagle Limited

Where to start…………..

My name is Ryan and this is my 1985 AMC Eagle Limited. This car has been in my family for 24 years and has had only 2 owners, my Grandparents and me. When I was given the car in 2006, I had no idea what a pain it would be to find parts for general repairs. I have been lucky so far in being able to find replacement parts by improvising. The internet is a great source of information, as long as it exists. For the AMC enthusiasts out there, you know that AMC discontinued their product lines in 1986, just 1 year after they manufactured this wonderful tank!

I inherited this one of it’s kind die-hard, indestructible, CAN’T FIND PARTS FOR, discontinued, awesome machine. This rig is one of the best 4 x 4’s in it’s class with it’s custom SELECT Four-Wheel-Drive. It currently runs at 189,000 original miles, with most all the original parts (I will get into better detail later on what has been replaced). All of the repairs (up to when I acquired the car in 2006) were done by one mechanic (when possible) and all the receipts for those repairs are in my possession. The oil has been maintained and changed every 3,000 miles, and has not had a problem passing smog yet (still required in my county).

I created this site to show my progress of restoration and repair, together with the hopes that some of you will help me to “Pimp my AMC”. I am going through a divorce and just cannot afford to purchase the items needed to accomplish this task. It will be up to all of us to keep this legacy of a vehicle alive. There are very few Eagles on the road today and I would like to see more of them. Your donations will be applied directly to the restoration and  enhancing of this beautiful car.    You will be able to track the donations and progress on this sight. Donations can be in the form of cash, parts or repair information. You will have several options on how to donate on the Donations page.

I have also set up a page for comments and  a page for pictures of other AMC vehicles that others own. If you have an AMC that you are proud of, send me a pic and we will let the world know how great these cars are.

The front left fender had to be replaced after my son drove it into a pillar of a house on easter. No other damage was done and it was thankfully an easy fix.
